Boston beat the Bolts, 3-0 yesterday during the only game around the league, and the Bolts lost more than just the game.
Center, Steven Stamkos, was driving to his own net, when he got tangled up with Boston's Hamilton, that resulted in a collision. This caused Stamkos to collide into the goal post with his right leg. He left the game on a stretcher at the 7:11 mark of the second period and later reports found out he broke his right tibia. He was scheduled for surgery this morning (Tuesday).
Patrice Bergeron netted his 6th goal of the year to start the scoring, and it was assisted by Loui Eriksson, and Torey Krug. Eriksson's third point in his last 4 contests since returning from a concussion, and I don't think it really affected him. Krug is playing lights out right now, and how is on a 4 game point streak, and that assist was his 5th point in the last 6 games.
Jarome Igilna potted the empty net goal, which it was the first time in 6 games he's scored a goal. This could be the type of thing to get him going. It's been a quiet year for the veteran but, still productive and going with a +11 rating on the year. Milan Lucic and David Krejci with the assists.
Bruins goalie, Tuukka Rask, making 28 saves to get the shutout and his second of the season.
